The initial days were a sensory overload – the aroma of street food, the sounds of bustling markets, and the colorful Hanboks that added a touch of tradition to the modern cityscape. Daejeon became my playground, and every corner held the promise of discovery.
Education played a pivotal role in my Korean experience. SolBridge International School of Business, nestled in the city of Daejeon, became the backdrop of my academic pursuits. Studying Business Administration for 5 years – 4 for my bachelor’s and one for my Master's – was a transformative period that shaped my intellect, broadened my perspectives, and ignited a passion for global business.
Beyond the classrooms, Korea offered me a rich tapestry of cultural experiences. From the mesmerizing cherry blossoms in spring to the vibrant hues of autumn foliage, each season painted a unique picture of the country's beauty. Weekend escapades to historical palaces, serene temples, and bustling markets became cherished moments etched in the chronicles of my Korean life.
Friendships blossomed effortlessly, transcending language barriers. The warmth of Korean hospitality and the camaraderie with fellow students from around the world created a diverse and supportive community. Together, we navigated the intricacies of academic challenges, celebrated cultural festivals, and forged bonds that went beyond borders.
Korean cuisine became a delightful part of my daily life. From the sizzling sounds of Korean barbecue to the comforting embrace of a hot bowl of bibimbap, every meal was a gastronomic journey. Trying new dishes and learning the art of Korean cooking became not just a culinary experience but a cultural exploration.
The dynamic pace of life in Daejeon was complemented by moments of tranquillity. Strolling along the Daejeoncheon, finding solace in ancient temples added balance to my bustling city life.
As my time in Korea unfolded, I realized that it was more than just a chapter; it was a mosaic of experiences that shaped me. The language, the traditions, the friendships, and the academic achievements painted a portrait of growth and resilience. My life in Korea became a story of adaptation, appreciation, and the harmonious blending of two cultures.
And so, as I reflect on my life in Korea, I am filled with gratitude for the memories, the friendships, and the lessons learned. Each day was a stroke on the canvas of my journey, a vibrant chapter that will forever be a cherished part of my life's narrative.
