The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced on October 27 that it would coordinate with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the 11th "KBEE ASEAN 2020" online within two weeks, from November 2.
This is a typical cultural content project of KOTRA, linking the Korean cultural wave Hallyu such as K-pop, K-drama with the promotion of the export of consumer goods and services to the countries of the Association Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) started in 2010.
The opening performance is expected to have a special performance using augmented reality (AR) technologies with the participation of 7 artists and groups, such as Taemin, sub-unit SUPER JUNIOR D&E, Ailee, Soyou, Hwang Chiyeul, LYn, and Yesung.
The exhibition includes a variety of programs, such as Korean product promotions in partnership with 110 distribution networks online, online consulting, marketing through social influencers.
Famous artists are expected to promote Korean consumer goods via video to fans of 10 ASEAN countries, and convey messages about the harmony and exchange between Korea and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASIAN).
KOTRA President and CEO Kwon Pyung-oh said the Hallyu wave has now become the new engine of growth for the Korean economy. This fair will contribute to promoting the preeminence of Korean consumer goods with ASEAN countries.
The opening ceremony of the KBEE ASEAN 2020 will be shown live on KOTRA's official Youtube channel at 6 p.m. on November 7 and 2 a.m. on November 8 (KST).
