Ten products were chosen in the Local Brand Design Award for Korea Tourism held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization.
This year’s contest focused on local brands that can represent the different regions of Korea. A total of 504 products and ideas were submitted, a 25% increase from 2019.
The contest has taken place every year since 1998 with this year’s contest allowing ideas as well as finished products in the categories of craftwork, processed food, fashion accessories, daily supplies, and more.
The grand prize, the President’s Award, was awarded to the Soy Sauce Caramel, the Prime Minister’s Award went to Gunsan Biando Island’s Gunsan Island Laver, and the umbrella designed with Dancheong.
The products from this year’s contest will be placed for crowdfunding with the support of KTO, placed at the Cheongwadae Sarangchae Souvenir Shop, Insa-Dong National Souvenir Center, and the Korea Tourism souvenir shop in Haeundae, Busan.
