On December 13, 2022, at 2 PM, at 2 PM, in the seminar room of Gangwon-do Council, 60 residents of Sinbuk-eup (신북읍), Dongmyeon (동면), and Buksan-myeon (북산면) villages and related officials attended Chuncheon City Ecotourism Revitalization Seminar was held.
This seminar was divided into four sessions: understanding of ecotourism, content development strategy for ecotourism, digital marketing strategy for ecotourism, and global promotion strategy for ecotourism. Yang Sook-hee (양숙희), a provincial councilor who hosted this seminar, said, "Sinbuk-eup, Dongmyeon, and Buksan-myeon are regions with natural resources and history. We will develop customized eco-tourism with the Korea Eco-Tourism Association to revitalize the local economy."
Jang Byung-gwon (장병권), chairman of the Korea Ecotourism Society, said, “When the precious traditions and places of a region are combined with ecotourism that pursues sustainable tourism, it becomes a tourism product with high added value.” A tourism model was presented.
Lectures on ecotourism strategies were given by Park Yoon-shin (박윤신), director of the Korea Ecotourism Society, Sohn Hui-min (손휘민), CEO of VDirectors, and Kang Dea-hoon (강대훈), CEO of WalkintoKorea.
Ahn Jun-heon (안준헌), mayor of Wolgok-ri (월곡리), Dong-myeon, who attended this seminar, said, "I was surprised that the village could be reborn as a tourism product with high added value through the ecological resources of the village, rather than revitalizing the local economy or tourism policy centered on hardware development such as buildings." He said that he became proud of the precious value he got from the seminar.
