"Foodstyle's Humanities, King's Dinner" by Kim Eun-hyung (김은형)

Book Introduction

In the era of the metaverse generation, the concept of enjoying healthy food and leading a healthy lifestyle goes beyond the mere act of eating. It encompasses the visual aspect as well. There's an old saying in Korea that goes, "Just by looking, one can feel full". However, the decline in appetite is closely related to the decline in reproductive desires. The phenomenon of young people filling their reproductive desires solely through virtual reality (VR) and similar virtual worlds, rather than engaging in direct human interaction and love, has become a global issue in relation to birth rates. What does it mean to "see without eating, and watch without loving?". If this phenomenon becomes widespread and intensified, humanity could face the risk of extinction within 80 years, as Professor Choi Jae-cheon has warned. So, what should we do at this critical moment?
